Driving Independence

I work for Multicap, a not-for-profit high needs disability support organisation in Queensland. Multicap was established in 1962 by five families who could not obtain suitable education and  support for their children with multiple disabilities. Today around 600 families including several of our founding members access Multicap’s individual respite, family support    networks,   opportunities and programs at facilities and locations across Queensland.

A wide range of support options are available to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to have life experiences that most people take for granted. For more information about Multicap and how you can donate or volunteer, please go to www.multicap.org.au.

Using the right equipment is an important part of providing support to people with high needs disability and Multicap has been using Vehicle Access Solutions Wheelchair lifts to help our clients for more than a decade now.

The lifts are more than suitable for the needs of our clients and staff and are fitted into all our new buses. This provides function and reliability, and by having the same brand in all our buses, allows continuity in regards to training for staff, and familiarity across bus models.

Vehicle Access Solutions maintenance program schedules our fleet for servicing regularly throughout Queensland without us having to organise the services each time they are due.

David Freeman and his staff have regular contact with me about our servicing requirements, spare parts, new products and innovations, and with the purchasing of new vehicles are able to liaise with suppliers on our specific requirements.

An all-round excellent service provided by Vehicle Access Solutions.

We have just completed the arduous process of purchasing a van and having it converted into a wheel chair compliant vehicle for our disabled daughter. After a lot of research, we had the pleasure of speaking with David at Vehicle Access Solutions in relation to their range of wheel chair lifts, and no question was too hard and we were very pleased with the quality of their products and their professionalism. The installation and fit out of our van was done quickly and to an extremely high standard. We would have no hesitate in recommending Vehicle Access Solutions and in fact we have already done so, as the high quality of their work has already drawn interest of other families looking to modify their vehicles.

QSSS could not have been more pleased with the modifications performed by Vehicle Access Solutions on our van. The service and work was performed to the highest standard, the team were most professional and friendly to deal with and the end result was brilliant.

We have no hesitation in recommending the services of Vehicle Access Solutions to anyone who needs a great job done in a professional, timely manner

Caboolture Intercept Reconnect would like to sincerely thank you for your generous donation to our Beat the Street Campaign at our Trivia Night held on 10 April. Together we raised over $3,500.

As a step towards preventing escalating youth homelessness numbers, the Caboolture intercept reconnect team hosted a Beat the Street Trivia Night held on Wednesday 10 April at the Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club, Bribie Island. This event coincided with National Youth Homelessness Matters Day to raise funds to help homeless youth across the Moreton bay region.

Your generous donation will go towards:

  • a purpose-built youth centre offering term respite accommodation for young people to assist with reconnection to their family, and
  • a drop in centre for homeless young people, including medical health and legal support

We have attached some photos from our fundraising event and highlight that your company logo was on display to attendees throughout the entire evening. The event also generated positive press throughout the Moreton Bay regional newspapers, with journalists keen to follow up over the coming months.

We are planning follow up fundraising events, including a trivia night before the end of 2013. We will be in contact over the coming months to invite you to again be a part of the solution to wipe out youth homelessness in Moreton Bay.

You can find out more about us, and view more photos from the evening, via the following pages:

It’s been a couple of months since the modification, to date I’m very impressed with the ease of transporting William around and also the flexibility of the seating plan in place. William is growing by the day and not having to lift him in and out of the vehicle means getting from A to B is never a hassle.

Many Thanks,

Graham Budden and Family
